Handguns were loaded with Bullseye, Unique and 2400 and shotguns used Red Dot. Rifles were a bit more complex but whenever possible I used surplus Hodgdon 4831 or IMR 4895. Today I rarely use any of those. Hodgdon Varget is very similar to 4895 and is useful in a wide range of cartridges. It's not the only rifle powder I use but is often the starting point when I work up loads for moderate-size cases. Almost every handgun cartridge that I shoot regularly with cast bullets is loaded with Hodgdon Titegroup.
Not all loads are available from all ammo manufacturers. Listed loads are those made by Remington, Winchester, Federal, and others. DISC, is a discontinued load.
